Abstract

The dispersion law for spin-wave excitations is studied in Fe 3Si and Fe 3Al ordered ferromagnetic alloys by using the Heisenberg model and in the non-interacting spin wave approximation. An explicit expression of the dispersion relation is given for small k vectors (| k | « 1/ a) and for the principal point and lines of symmetry in the Brillouin zone. We write down explicitly the symmetry properties of the spin-wave states in these cases and show their usefulness when considering neutron scattering by spin waves in these alloys.
