Abstract

Brillouin light scattering (BLS) spectroscopy is used to investigate the thermally activated spin-waves in a Fe/Au/Fe sandwich where various arrays of micron-size stripes were elaborated. The experimental results of the unpatterned and patterned double layer are compared and discussed. The measured frequencies of the observed discrete modes related to the quantisation of the surface acoustic SA mode are compared to those obtained from analytical and numerical calculations of eigen modes in stripe-patterned double layers.
