Abstract

Dynamics of the ferromagnetic easy-plane Heisenberg chain has been simulated by a standard Monte Carlo algorithm and the accurate numerical integration of the equations of motion for the spin variables. The dynamic structure factors S( q, ω) have been calculated for a wide range of field and temperatures and interpreted in terms of spin-wave and soliton effects. A comparison with known neutron scattering experiments for CsNiF 3 is presented and deviations from the sine-Gordon theory are revealed.
