Abstract

We present here the investigation of the spin-accumulation effect in magnetic nanocontacts [1] and nanobridges [3]. Spin-accumulation effect is employed to explain the huge values of magneto-resistance experimentally discovered in these structures. We present the solution of the 2D spin-diffusion problem in a magnetic nanobridge. Dependences of the magneto-resistance created by the domain wall and of the distribution of non-equilibrium spin density on the nanobridge geometry and the material parameters are presented.
