Abstract
Abstract The discovery of spermatophores attached to the shell of Chrysallida obtusa (Brown) (Opisthobranchia, Pyramidellidae), is reported. The spermatophore is described and compared with descriptions of spermatophores of other gastropods. Earlier literature on spermatophores among non-stylommatophorous gastropods is reviewed. A brief discussion is given on possible methods of sperm-insertion and the importance of spermatophores as possible isolating mechanisms.
