Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the financial performance of football clubs whose stocs are traded in Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) for the period of 2002-2011 and to develop solution proposals with the aim to improve their financial structures. While analysing the financial performance, the basic financial ratios and basic balance sheet items were used, which were published in their financial statements. At the end of the financial performance analysis of Turkish football clubs it has been found that the clubs have debts in big amounts. They have serious liquidity and profitability problems, and they encounter financial problems in steady growing manner, inspite of big investments. As a result some solution proposals have been made to bring the Turkish football clubs in better situation financially.
