Abstract
The State Opioid Response (SOR) grants going to states received an increase in the final appropriations bill approved by Congress March 11, to $1.525 billion from $1.5 billion. Although called “opioid” grants, this money can be spent on stimulant use disorders as well (see “SAMHSA to write new application for new SOR with stimulants included,” ADAW JAN. 13, 2020; https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/adaw.32587). The SOR grants go to the state alcohol and drug abuse directors: the Single State Authorities (SSAs) who have jurisdiction over the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) block grant.
