Abstract
In Ar matrix reversible aggregation of Au atoms to Au 2 and Au 3 clusters and dissociation to monomers and in Xe matrix the formation of a special Au nXe complex is observed. The conversion ratios reach 10 3 and the aggregation efficiencies show thresholds and a progressive increase with power.
