Abstract
Spectra of laser-produced carbon plasma, using a 1-GW-5.5 ns, Nd:glass laser, were observed in the visible region between 3900 and 5900 Å. Most of the lines observed are new and, hitherto, unreported in laser plasma experiments. These lines originate predominantly from lower ionization stages. The relative intensities of these lines with respect to the strongest line are given. The results are discussed with reference to Corona model for ionization states.
