Abstract
Thirty eight doublet electronic states of the Rydberg molecule NaHe are studied by means of numerical solution of the Schrödinger equation using the finite element method. Twelve of these 38 electronic states are studied for the first time. It is confirmed that potential-energy curves (PECs) of high Rydberg Σ–states have several wells and barriers at large internuclear distances due to radial oscillations of the electron density in the Rydberg states of the sodium atom.
