Abstract

Formation of solid tetrazolate complexes with iron (II), nickel, cadmium and cobalt are compared to the sodium and silver tetrazolates. The formation of a weak complex between nickel and tetrazole is confirmed, and overall formation constants of β 1 = 2·3 ± 1·5 and β 2 = 13·1 ± 0·9 are obtained for the system in dimethylformamide. The 1-deuterotetrazole infra-red spectrum is discussed, and implications of the infra-red spectra of the metal-tetrazolate complexes are considered.
