Abstract

Abstract Corrections of Planck's radiation law significant for SUBMM and FIR black body standards of usual laboratory size are computed for cubic, spheric, hemispheric and cone-shaped cavities. For wavelengths λ ⪅ 1 20 of the cavity length, the simple correction factor (1 + λ / s ) is obtained, where s is a shape dependent constant. The consequences for the Einstein coefficients, Boltzmann's radiation law, Wien's displacement law, and autocorrelations are considered.
