Abstract

From a temperature correlation derived from a hyperbolic heat conduction equation due to Gaussian random process of an internal heat source, a spectral density is expressed. As a result, an effective range of a relaxation time related to finite high-speed propagation of a thermal wave in a solid is analytically estimated for real values of the spectral density and is compared with an expression derived from the conventional parabolic heat conduction equation.
