Abstract
It is known well that speckle referencing enhances the shift selectivity of holograms. In this paper, the scheme of using speckle patterns produced by a filter with a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal is applied to multiplexing holograms. The speckle patterns can be reconfigured by applying an electric field to the filter. The experiment confirmed the feasibility of a hybrid scheme with shift multiplexing and speckle multiplexing.
