Abstract
Specific total power loss measurements made on sheets of electrical steel using a single-sheet tester have been compared with those made on strips in the conventional Epstein frame. From the results it has been possible to deduce a single value for the effective magnetic path length for the sheet tester, for a wide range of materials and test conditions.
