Abstract

SYNOPSIS An endoreversible Carnot cycle is presented in this paper for a heat pump, where the specific heating load is limited by the power input. The endoreversible Carnot cycle is a modified Carnot cycle where the heat transferred between the heat pump and its surroundings is irreversible. A specific heating load is adopted as the objective function for the performance analysis of the heat pump. The relation between the maximum specific heating load and power input of the heat pump is found.
