Abstract

Abstract Using a conduction calorimeter, the specific heat and heat power dissipated by a LATGS single crystal when an alternative field of 1 KHz was applied to the sample, were measured. A strong dissipation effect is produced between the Curie point and a lower temperature which depends on the field amplitud. The specific heat of a “dissipative steady state” shows an anomalous behaviour in this temperature range. This specific heat can be considered as the sum of the equilibrium value plus a quantity which is proportional to the variation of the dissipative power with the temperature.
