Abstract
The specific heat and magnetization of DyRh 2− x Co x Si 2 were investigated. An extra peak, other than the antiferromagnetic transition, was observed in the temperature dependences of the specific heat and magnetization. The lower temperature peak up to x = 0.6 is explained by the spin reorientation. The data are reproduced by numerical calculation using a two-sublattice Hamiltonian including crystal field and exchange interaction terms.
