Abstract

We consider two important factors that should be taken into account in estimating the residual service life of port structures, namely, the in-service overloading and the corrosion resistance of welded joints. It is shown that the stresses caused by the overloading may exceed a half of the computed level. It is also important to consider the electrochemical heterogeneity of various zones of welded joints.
