Abstract
Abstract Since the 1940's Professor Leslie Eric Cross has been actively pursuing research in the area of ferroelectric materials. As a 65th birthday tribute to Professor Cross, the editor and the editorial board of “Ferroelectrics” are publishing this special issue. As Professor Cross' contributions to the field are recognized in this way, it is my great pleasure and honor to have been selected as author of his tribute.
