Abstract

Electron states in quantum dots have been investigated with the metallic tip of a scanning force microscope. The interaction potential between the scanning tip and the electronic states in the quantum dots has been mapped out by spatial images of the conductance resonances corresponding to single electrons moving in and out of the dot.
