Abstract
We analyze labor productivity convergence between and within Canadian provinces by incorporating a spatial lag in a standard empirical neoclassical growth model. Results point to the predominance of inter-sectoral spillover effects. Furthermore, ignoring spatial effects yields smaller convergence estimates.
