Abstract

Spatholobus pulcher Dunn. (Fabaceae) is collected from Pu Hoat Natural Reserve, Nghe An Province and confirmed in this paper as a new record for the flora of Vietnam. The specimens are preserved in the Herbarium of the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources (HN) Ha Noi, Vietnam. We built the key for 6 species of this genus in Vietnam. A detailed description, illustration, data on distribution, ecology and phenology of S. pulcher are provided. It differs distinctly from other species of Spatholobus in Vietnam by having hirsute abaxially surface of leaflets, 5 - 7 paired lateral veins of leaflet, acuminate apex of calyx lobes and 2-lobed apex of corolla standard.
