Abstract

Muro al barrio, is an initiative of the Cali Foundation Culata, organization made up of two prominent graffiti artists from the city, who invite the Muthesius Foundation to support the project's research process, this is how in the study is concrete the alliance in the work called Muro al Barrio: social advertising and art, to signify street scenes . The purpose of this work is to generate artistic, social and educational proposals in vulnerable neighborhoods that aim to transform public spaces, beginning with the neighborhoods: El Piloto, El Hoyo and San Vicente, sectors stigmatized by violence and drugs. It is hoped that through urban art and social advertising they will become transformative tools, starting from the public spaces lived and traveled with the goal of generating atmosphere and dynamics of peace. The project is carried out with the conviction that fibers must be touched, not only with reason or political agreements, but it is also fundamental to mobilize consciences, a task that is possible thanks to art and the message of social advertising. To carry out the project, three stages are carried out based on the qualitative perspective with research techniques such as interviewing, observation and life stories. Socialize this investigative exercise, allows the academic community to know different forms of research and other fields of action of advertising, in this case from the perspective of the promotion and preservation of the recovery of scenarios for healthy coexistence and peace. Muro al Barrio, is a story of teamwork, creative expression, and a show of commitment to make proactive, innovative and inclusive research that contributes to the community.
