Abstract
Space environment is a rather aggressive medium for different structures. Thus, special materials should be used to withstand the external effects. During the Eighth Space Flights Safety Symposium, the retrospective for Space flight safety measures was presented and the future strategies were discussed aimed at peaceful and safe space missions. The following topics were under discussion: protection of Space structures from space debris collisions and micrometeoroids; fire safety of Space vehicles; safety at launch and during landing; propulsion systems modeling and simulations; supercomputer predictive modeling for ensuring Space program safety.
