Abstract

On the basis of the memories and background information the author of the article unravels the mystery of the transition of the USSR to new Russia telling about the “undercurrents” in the Soviet top management that accompanied it. Being the successor of the “Vekhi” tradition, the author conceives the ongoing events in the context of Russian philosophy. It become clear that despite the repressive organization of the soviet system, it failed to suppress in Russian people their thirst for freedom and their need for truth. That’s why the destruction of the Soviet system was primarily going in the spiritual sphere, - in ideology and in art.
