Abstract

The objective of the fieldwork was to test whether or not the sites have a stratigraphic sequence covering Late Bronze-Iron I-Iron II. The stratigraphy was published in Levant 29 (1997). This paper is the final report on the pottery. The complete sequence from Ash-Shorabat Area I is published, demonstrating that the only in situ remains dated to Iron II. Out-of-context Early Bronze I pottery, mostly from Area II, is also presented. From Khirbat Dubab, the complete Area I sequence is published, showing two phases of occupation, Nabataean/Early Roman (first-second century AD) and Late Roman (third century AD). Pottery from Area IV Phases 1 and 2 is presented to demonstrate the Early Roman construction and Late Roman rebuilding of the perimeter wall.
