Abstract

The sorption of organic compounds by porous copolymers of different porous structure and polarity was investigated with laboratory and commercial samples. The sorption capacity of hypercrosslinked copolymers is up to three times higher than that of macroporous samples. The described hypercrosslinked polymeric adsorbents are able to trap large quantities of adsorbates repeatedly. The kinetics of both adsorption and desorption of organic compounds from water is very fast for all adsorbents under investigation.
