Abstract
The i.r. and Raman spectra of solid O2F2 at 77 K and the i.r. spectrum of matrix-isolated O2F2 at 20 K are described. The similarity of frequencies in each case implies little intermolecular coupling and the observation of O2F in some matrix experiments supports the decomposition mechanism O2F2→ O2F + F.
