Abstract

Examination of MS 75 B 14 of the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, The Hague, disclosed the presence in the volume of two repair strips containing fragments of the incunable Die ieeste van iulius cesar (Gouda, Printer of Die ieeste van iulius cesar, 1486-93). The text of this incunable is a translation of the Annales du Hainaut of Jacques de Guise, part one, book four. By comparing the text on the strips with the text of the Annales it was possible to identify the strips. One strip turned out to fit into folia g2r. and g3v. of the extant copy of the incunable, the other as belonging in between folia g3v. and g4r. The text of this appears to be missing in the copy. Reconstruction of that part of the text results in a gathering g which may have consisted of 10 folia which would have given a collation of a-e 8 , f 6 , g 10 , h 6 .
