Abstract

Some thermomechanical properties of hydrogels formed as a result of freezing-thawing of concentrated aqueous PVA solutions have been studied. The character of the thermomechanical curves depends on the conditions in which the cryogels were obtained and is largely determined by the regimes of unfreezing of the samples. From the measurements of the melting points of the cryogels of different concentration the authors evaluate the melting enthalpies of the polymeric gel nodes on passing from the gel to solution.
