Abstract

Measurements of skin vibration have been obtained on three different missile structures. Spectra of vibration due principally to rocket engine noise are reported for structures ranging from 3 ft to 10 ft in diameter. The data cover the frequency range from approximately 15 cps to 10 000 cps and have been analyzed in 13 octave bands of frequency. The effects of the structural differences between the missiles are empirically evaluated. (This work has been supported in part by the U. S. Army and the U. S. Air Force.)
