Abstract
Some remarks are made on steady flow past solid bodies in the presence of external magnetic fields. Certain common features seem to be recognizable in the results of a number of studies on this class of problems. These are features which appear to distinguish flows of low conductivity from those of high conductivity, i.e., flows of low magnetic Reynolds number R/sub M/ from those of high R/sub M/. There are unmistakable analogies between the influences of the magnetic and the actual Reynolds numbers in this class. (B.O.G.)
