Abstract

The reactants were obtained by mechanical mixing of vinyl functional polysiloxane and EVA under heat. From ATR and contact angle measurements of the castfilm of the reactants, the content of the siloxane component near the exposed surface was observed to be higher than that near the glass side of the film for the 95% EVA modified sample. A smaller difference was observed for the 40% modified film. The molten reactant was able to flow under shear and its apparent melt viscosity was more dependent on the shear rate and less on the temperature in comparison with EVA's. The reactants exhibited the shape memory effect.
