Abstract

Bulked yarns have been found to possess certain advantageous features to help the Czechoslovak textile industry. Four bulking procedures have been developed and these are being used on domestic polyamide 6 filament yarns. Besides, a branched processing and application research programme is carried on by various textile technological research institutes and fashion centres. The bulked materials help to produce warmth-retaining textiles from synthetic fibres, doing away, at the same time, with the necessity of re-equipping spinning mills. Most of the bulking capacity will be located in the synthetic fibre plants as, in this way, several operations can be saved and the quality of the yarn improved.
