Abstract

Research on warp sizing was conducted by the Textile Research Institute over a period of several years, the earlier research on the warp sizing of filament rayon having been reported in TEXTILE RESEARCH (see references at the end of this paper). That part of the program covering the period from October, 1940, through November, 1942, has not been published previously. This was in accordance with the agree ment between the Institute and the sponsors of the project. The papers in this issue and those to follow in early issues of TEXTILE RESEARCH deal with warp sizing of staple rayon and include some of the results of this part of the program which have been thought to be of greatest interest. A summary of this project and of the fur ther study recently completed has been prepared and preparations are being made for publication at an early date.
