Abstract

In this paper, a two-community SIR model with an asymmetric structure is proposed. We provide a concise method to derive an explicit formula of the basic reproduction number ℛ0 and present a route conception for the explanation of ℛ0. Finally, we find a close relationship between ℛ0 and the final size by the Perron–Frobenius theorem and the Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem.
