Abstract

SynopsisA number of factors increase the stress on both driver and vehicle when going on holiday or unaccustomed journeys. Greater distances than normal are attempted in short periods of time without rest and the economics of motoring often mean that small family cars are expected to carry heavy loads for long distances. Drivers become easily exhausted under these conditions and due care should be taken in preparation for long journeys to reduce the strain on both car and driver to a minimum.
