Abstract

The paper considers the problem of evaluating moments of first passage times associated with noise driven oscillators. In particular, the first and second moments of the random time associated with the build up process, and the first moment of the passage time of the oscillation envelope from its nominal amplitude to a prescribed deviation are derived. The relation between the amplitude stability and frequency stability is discussed.
