Abstract

Root tips of Vicia faba were treated with treflan and mitomycin C separately. The chromosome aberrations were found in roots treated with treflan. The chromosome aberrations were found in roots treated with treflan. The most common types of chromosome aberrations induced by the herbicide were chromosome bridges and acentric fragments. Mitotic indices showed that mitomycin C had a strong effect on the inhibition of mitosis. The effect of the antibiotic was reversible.
