Abstract

Publisher Summary During the preparation of Nuclear Data Sheets, the Nuclear Data Group has noted a number of cases where measurements of conversion coefficients are necessary. All the experimental results presented in the chapter are taken from Nuclear Data Sheets. The cases discussed in the chapter fall into three groups in which comparison between experiment and theory is of interest, disagreement between different pieces of experimental information exists, and conversion coefficients. The so-called anomalous, hindered El transitions belong in the first group. It seems that all E1 transitions in rotational nuclei are highly hindered. The chapter presents a list of hindered transitions in even-mass nuclei. It discusses the second group comprising some cases where there are discrepancies between different experimental measurements. The third group contains a list of nuclei for which measurements of conversion coefficients are of great help in establishing and understanding the level scheme.
