Abstract

Objective: the study of somatic and reproductive status in pregnant women with epilepsy in the Krasnoyarsk city and the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Methods: this is retrospective analysis (2005-2012) of case reports of 99 of pregnant women with epilepsy, which were citizens of Krasnoyarsk and Krasnoyarsk region. All cases are from Maternity ward No. 5, specialized in helping women with pathology of the central nervous system. Additionally 100 cases of women without epilepsy giving birth were studied. Results: the analysis of the somatic and reproductive status of women of the studied groups allows drawing a conclusion those pregnant women with epilepsy has some pregnancy, but the first delivery. These women had seizures free during 10 years before pregnancy. The average age of menarche in the women was 13.23 ± 1.5 years old. Summary: It is essential to detect reproductive and somatic status of pregnant women with epilepsy in order to improve medical health care organization for this group of women.
