Abstract

A novel approach to produce Pt-free, earth abundant SnS2/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) counter electrode for dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) is reported. The SnS2 formation was confirmed by X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It was found that the RGO. Scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope confirms the formation of nanosheets that binds together in spherical geometry. It was found that the RGO addition into SnS2 counter electrode resulted in DSSCs with 38% increase in power conversion efficiency due to the overall decrease in resistivity of the thin film.
