Abstract

Monoclinic, P21, a = 14.316 (2), b = 6.085(2), c = 13.423 (2) A, β=100.52°, M = 441.6, Z = 2, Dx, = 1.28 g cm−3, μ = 7.0 cm−1. Torsional angles C(16)-C(17)-C(20)-O(20) and O(20)-C(20)-C(21)-O(21) equal −29.7° and −6.2° respectively. Bonding between Cortisol and pyridine occurs through the H bond O(17)-H … N [d = 2.823 (7) A]. The cohesion of the crystal is effected by this bond, interactions between O (11), O(20) and O(21), and van der Waals interactions.
