Abstract
Halide double perovskites sans lead with robust stability have found their niche as active materials in optoelectronic devices. In this work, we report the successful doping of Mn2+ into Cs2AgInCl6 using chemical reflux approach. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy are used to investigate the structural changes introduced due to doping. Scanning electron microscopic images reveal the morphologies of the Mn2+doped Cs2AgInCl6. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy establishes the presence of Mn2+ in the compounds. Incorporating Mn2+ ions break the parity forbidden transitions in Cs2AgInCl6 and prompted luminescence in the visible at 616 nm corresponding to 4T2 to 6A1transitions.This work reiterates the potential of lead-free double perovskites as non-toxic alternatives for lead halide perovskites.
