Abstract

ABSTRACTCoSe2 nanocrystals with different morphologies were synthesized by method of Anambient pressure solution chemical process, using triethylene glycol as green solvent, cobalt nitrate as cationic source and selenium powder as anionic source. CoSe2 with morphologies of amorphous, nanoparticles, nanosheets and nanobulks were controlled by adjusting additives of ammonium hydroxide, ethylenediamine, triethanolamine and hydrazine hydrate respectively, and be studied systematically by XRD, TEM, HRTEM, EDS. The electrochemical properties of the results were characterized by oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). We found that the CoSe2 nanoparticles shows better OER property than other morphologies and that may due to the large specific surface area for nanoparticles. Besides, the CoSe2 nanoparticles also shows excellent ORR activity in the same environment with a low overpotential of 0.34 V to achieve 10 mA/cm2, which means a good potential for bifunctional electrochemical catalyze.
