Abstract

The synthesis and single crystal structure of a zinc arsenate, [NH3(CH2)3NH2(CH2)2NH3][Zn4(AsO4)3(HAsO4)]·H2O, I, is presented. The structure of I is built from a network of ZnO4, AsO4 and HAsO4 tetrahedral units, connected through their vertices. The connectivity gives rise to 3-, 4- and 5-membered rings, which are joined together forming a one-dimensional column. The columns are connected forming the inter-connected helical channels bound by 8-T atoms (T = Zn and As) in the bc plane.
