Abstract

The solubilities in water at 25° of five barbiturates were determined by the application of liquid scintillation counting of C 14 -tagged compounds to the technique of phase solubility analysis. The effects of several added solutes on these solubilities were also determined, and over-all salting-out constants were obtained from graphs based on the empirical Setschenow equation.
