Abstract

In the present work, the solubility values of codeine phosphate in the binary mixtures of pol-yethylene glycol 400 and ethanol are determined via a shake-flask method followed by spectro-photometry in the temperature range of 293.2–313.2 K. The attained solubility values of co-deine phosphate are correlated with some linear and non-linear co-solvency models. Additional-ly, the density of saturated mixtures is also presented by the Jouyban-Acree model at various temperatures. The accuracy of each used model is validated by the mean relative deviations (MRD %) of the back-calculated solubility and density data. The apparent thermodynamic prop-erties of codeine phosphate dissolution are also calculated using the van't Hoff and Gibbs equa-tions.
