Abstract

The solubility data of 1,6-Bis[3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionamido]hexane, whose abbreviation is Irganox 1098, in eight pure solvents and two binary solvent mixtures were measured at temperatures ranging from (273.15 to 318.15) K by a static analytical method. The results showed that the solubility data of Irganox 1098 in all the selected solvents increased with the rising of temperature in the investigated temperature range. Furthermore, four thermodynamic models including the modified Apelblat equation, λh equation, NRTL Model and the Jouyban–Acree model were used to correlate the experimental solubility data. The calculation results showed that the modified Apelblat equation and NRTL model can obtain better result for pure solvents and Jouyban–Acree model can give better correlation results for binary solvent mixtures. Finally, the dissolution thermodynamic properties including Gibbs energy, enthalpy and entropy of Irganox 1098 in the eight pure solvents were also calculated and analyzed.
